Day trading is something I do not encourage if you currently have a full-time job. You will add more stress to yourself, lose your social life and incur higher transaction costs. 13 Nov 2017 I don't think it's possible to be a profitable day-trader with a full time job. You can swing trade though! It doesn't take more than a half hour to scan for set ups 

Seeing trading as a complementary income stream is often the best choice. If you love your job, you love the personal contact with other humans and can’t see yourself tied to a screen 12 hours a day, pursuing the full-time trading lifestyle is going to end in a catastrophe. Trading can be a great second stream of income and mix things up. If you’re like me and insist on starting out in a market that is only open a few hours a week and trading with a style that requires a great amount of time like day trading, then consider requesting a fixed day off every week from your full time job that you can dedicate to trading. As you are most probably aware, trading can be done at any time of the day, so doing it part time is very possible. A part time forex trader can have a very lucrative side income if they are prepared and organised. However, working a day job for eight hours and then finding the time to trade from home requires plenty of discipline and common sense. But, it’s not like that at all. Being a trader is not a 1 to 1 exchange with your day time job – they both require different kinds of skill-sets & mindsets. Forex trading can’t really be compared to your full time job – where the more effort you put into it, the more money you get out. This means that even people who have full-time jobs or children at home can trade – it is just a matter of finding the right market and opportunity. This is not to say that trading is an easy But the reason for my doing a full time job is not because I do not earn enough on stock or commodity trading, it is more to do with my style of trading. I have ample time and I trade for approx 15 mins at a time, 3 to 4 times in a day, that’s all. To top it up, my job is a work from home job and hence it is like icing on the cake.
